1. Is this a franchise? No, this is not a franchise. You would be an independent business owner. You will receive a “Getting Started” manual that will help to guide you through the process of setting up your business. 2. Will Ivy’s Wood Creations take a percentage of my profits? No, once you purchase your kit all of your profits are yours. 3. When can I expect to start making a profit? Typically, you should recoup your start up costs after 8 to 10 rentals. Keep in mind that this varies by area. 4. What is included in a Stork kit? A Stork kit includes the body, legs 2 interchangeable wings, steel ground stake, 20 keepsake plaques, paint pen, 2 stencils, a business start up manual and an instructional guide. 5. What is included in a Sweet Pea kit? The Sweet Pea kit includes 1 pea pod, 2 interchangeable babies, 2 interchangeable announcement boards, ground stake, 20 keepsake plaques, 1 paint pen, 2 stencils, a business start up manual and an instructional guide. 6. What is included in a Birthday Yard Card kit? A birthday yard card kit include everything seen in the photo. Which could be a four foot tall character, and/or a 4 foot tall balloon cluster or cupcake, ground stakes and between 4 and 12 small staked characters. This kit includes 15 4” x 12” plaques to personalize, 1 paint pen, 1 stencil, a business start up manual and an instructional guide. The red 18” numbers are sold separately and can be ordered under Yard Card Supplies. 7. How do I start my own yard card rental business? Included in each kit is a “Getting Started” manual that will walk you through all the steps to starting your own yard card rental business. 8. How do I start to build my client base? There are a number of ways to start to market your business and build your client base. 1) Word of mouth is a valuable way to find clients. Tell your friends, family, business associates and any groups or associations you belong to. 2) The internet is another affordable solution. Create a webpage. There are many sites that provide you with templates and a web page for a minimal charge or free. 3) Don’t forget social media such as: Facebook, Twitter and Blogging. 4) Register your business with yellowpage.com as well as each search engine. 5) Consider attending craft or baby shows. 6) Contact local editors to get a feature story on your new business. 7) Look at small, independent local stores to leave brochures. 8) You can gift your rental to friends and family as a way to advertise your business. 9. How much time does it take to set up a rental? It take about ten minutes to set up. 10. What else will I need to open for business? You will need a screw driver (manual or power), 9/16 ratchet or wrench (for the stork only), and flashlight. It is also recommended that you have a post driver, mallet and post puller. 11. How big are the signs and will I need a truck? The yard cards break down into 4 X 4 foot sections for easy transport in most size vehicles. 12. How do I store the signs? You will need to have a clean, dry space to store your rental. 13. What kinds of skills do I need? You will need to know how to use a ratchet or wrench and be able to drive a stake into the ground. You will also need to have the ability to lift approximately 20 pounds. 14. What are the signs made of? The rental signs are made from MDO (Medium Density Overlay). MDO is plywood overlaid and heat fused with a smooth sheet of resin on both surfaces providing a water proof coating, making it a strong choice for your outdoor rental sign. The yard cards are hand painted with a high grade exterior paint and then sealed with a Polyshield sealer. 15. Can the signs be displayed in the rain or snow? Yes, our yard cards are very durable and will handle all types of weather. In cases of extreme wind I would recommend tethering it down or removing until the storm subsides. 16. What kind of product care is needed to maintain the signs? It is recommended that you do not stack the signs without a cardboard or sheet divider. You will also want to inspect your yard card before and after each delivery. If you find any smudges or dirt you can wipe it clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Resealing your stork rental is recommended yearly. The sealer is called Hydrocote Polyshield Clear Satin. It can be purchased at: www.thewinfieldcollection.com 17. Do you sell zip codes with your kits? We do not sell zip codes or limit your rental delivery area. 18. How do I get additional supplies? For additional supplies click on Yard Card Supplies. 19. Where do you ship to? We ship within the contiguous 48 states. 20. How soon can I expect my Stork Rental Kit? Your kit(s) will be shipped in 4 to 6 weeks. We will notify you if there will be a longer turnaround time. 21. Do you have a warranty on your rental kit(s)? Ivy’s Wood Creations warranties all products for a period of 30 days for defects due to materials or workmanship. If you have a problem please contact us immediately. 22. What is your return policy? We will refund the full amount of the product, less the cost of shipping, if the item(s) are returned within 30 days. We suggest using a shipping method that can be tracked. You are responsible for shipping the product back to us.
